Compassion and empathy are essential skills for professionals assisting patients/clients during difficult times. At times, helping professions have a difficult time reserving time for self-care. In this presentation, attendees will learn to recognize signs and symptoms of Compassion Fatigue, learn about its long and short-term implications, and reorganize practices to avoid burn out.

Suddenly they may start experiencing anger, mood swings, resentments, low tolerance for frustration, which easily escalates to generalized sadness, detachment, isolation and avoidance. All these are signs and symptoms of Burn Out and Compassion Fatigue, and they both have short- and long-term implications for us, our families, work space, and clients. Through this course professionals will learn to identify their symptoms, reorganize their practices, and learn how to transform Compassion Fatigue to Compassion Satisfaction.
